Senior Interior Architect/Designer

Koichi Takada Architects is a Sydney-based boutique architecture firm, led by Koichi Takada. Founded in 2008, it is a young, innovative and award-winning practice which has already delivered a wide range of architectural and interior projects in residential, hospitality, commercial and cultural venues.

We now have an opportunity for an Senior Interior Architect/Designer to join our team. We foster a creative and constructive team environment where our people can develop their professional skills and have opportunities for long term career progression. You will learn from the best, working on various high-end (multi)residential, restaurants and serviced apartment projects.

Leading Interiors Team, you will:

  • Contribute to high-profile architecture competitions
  • Contribute to the design of complex projects of different scales
  • Lead and contribute in preparing presentation packages

The ideal candidate for the role will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • 10+ years postgraduate experience, ideally in different building types
  • Ability to delivery projects from concept to completion
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Ability to guide, mentor and lead a team of experienced and junior architects & interior designers
  • Excellent eye for detail in reviewing documentation and providing mark-ups
  • Track record of contributing to the design of complex, high-end projects
  • Ability to present to top tier clients and liaise with them
  • Strong 2D and 3D skills: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp
  • Advanced Photoshop and Indesign skills
  • An excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and “can do” attitude
  • An eagerness to learn and a commitment to deliver outstanding design work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A degree in interior design or interior architecture from a recognised university

Graduate Architect

As Graduate Architect, you will work alongside a Project Architect, contributing to the design and assisting with DA, tender and construction documentation.

You have:

  • A minimum of 12 months post-graduate experience in an architecture firm, working on multi-residential or mixed-use projects in AutoCAD or Revit
  • A strong work ethic and a “can do” attitude
  • An eagerness to learn and a commitment to deliver outstanding work
  • Excellent 2D and 3D CAD skills: Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD
  • Advanced graphic design skills: Photoshop, InDesign
  • Good communication skills
  • A BA Hons or Master degree in Architecture from a recognised university

Founded in 2008, it is a young, innovative and award-winning practice which has already delivered a wide range of architectural and interiors projects in residential, hospitality, commercial and cultural venues.

We now have an opportunity for an experienced Graduate Architect to join our team. As part of a project team, you will work on a unique large-scale mixed-use project that is currently under construction. In this role, you will work with the team leader of the project and be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Project Architect and/or Associate/Senior Associate to deliver Concept/Schematic Documentation & Design Documentation coordiantion of project documentation
  • Assist in the development of design layouts abnd space planning in multi-residentail developments
  • Adherance to project programme, milestones and deliverables
  • collaborating and assisting with delivery of project docuemtnation
  • compliance with ADG coordinating the project team
  • assisting with the administration of the project
  • reviewing and marking up AutoCAD & Revit drawings
  • liaising with external consultants
  • reviewing consultants’ drawings / shop drawings and report back to your project team

The ideal candidate for the role will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • 2 – 3 years postgraduate experience in coordinating complex, large-scale multi-residential and mixed-use projects from DD to documentation stage
  • Proven experience in coordinating a project team and liaising with consultants and clients
  • A high sense of responsibility with an excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised thought process
  • A strong work ethic and “can do” attitude
  • An eagerness to learn and a commitment to deliver outstanding work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • A degree in architecture from a recognised university

Project Architect

As Project Architect, you will have the support of highly experienced directors and associates, ensuring your continuous growth and enabling your career progression within our team. You will work on various high-end, large-scale multi-residential projects from design concept through to delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading projects from concept design to construction
  • Tracking the progress of each project and reporting to the directors
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Liaising with clients, council, consultants
  • Producing AutoCAD and Revit drawings, checking and marking up shop drawings, reviewing your team’s drawings
  • Leading a small team, mentoring juniors

The ideal candidate for the role will be an all-rounder with the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • 5 years postgraduate experience in coordinating complex multi-residential or mixed-use projects in a similar role
  • NSW Registration
  • Proven experience in coordinating a small internal team and liaising with clients, council, consultants
  • Proficient in documenting in AutoCAD and Revit
  • A high sense of responsibility with an excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Mature communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and “can do” attitude
  • An eagerness to learn and a commitment to deliver outstanding work
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Thorough knowledge of BCA and Australian standards
  • A degree in architecture from a recognised university

Interior Designer/Architect

We have an opening for an Interior Designer/Architect to join our team and work on various large-scale high-end residential, private residential, commercial and cultural projects.

Ideally, you will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • 2+ years postgraduate experience
  • Experience in different building types and complex projects
  • Solid skills in documenting, space planning, preparing FF&E schedules, and liaising with consultants, clients and suppliers
  • Some experience in presenting to clients and coordinating consultants
  • Strong 2D and 3D skills: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and advanced skills in Adobe CC
  • An excellent eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and “can do” attitude and a commitment to deliver outstanding work
